Do we have to register for 10DLC?
Updated over a week ago

Yes - texting registration (sometimes called 10DLC registration) is mandatory, if you intend to use Peer-to-Peer Texting, Broadcast Texting, or Automated Texting on Impactive. We won’t deactivate your Impactive license if you don’t register (given that we offer many other features beyond texting - including Friends and Family Messaging, which does not require registration), but you will not be able to use our text messaging features.

Registration is very straightforward and free for most organizations (unless you're an electoral campaign), so we recommend submitting the registration - even if you aren't positive whether you'll use texting or not, it might be useful to have the option available if suddenly needed in the future.

There are no "downsides" to registration (though electoral organizations do need to pay $95 to Campaign Verify to obtain a "token" in order to register - more on that here). Note that registration applies only to the specific vendor you register with, i.e. Impactive (that's why you need to register again, even if you've already registered on a different texting platform), so even if you're still testing out Impactive relative to other vendors, there's no downside to register via Impactive.

If you’d like guidance on whether and how to register, don’t hesitate to reach out to [email protected].
