We've introduced a new feature to allow users to send follow-up texts to contacts after calls from a phone bank. This new feature will unlock new possibilities to continue the conversation - to share URLs, follow up with confirmed details, and more.
β
This feature is available under the Step 4: Advanced step when setting up a phone bank. Toggle ON the setting "Allow users to send peer-to-peer texts after completed calls?" to turn this feature on for the given phone bank.
After turning on that toggle, you'll see an area to add response scripts that users can send. These response scripts function in a very similar way to response scripts for P2P and broadcast texting. The response scripts give users pre-scripted options for texts to send to the contact; as with all response scripts, they can be personalized with dynamic variables.
Upon writing at least one response script and publishing the phone bank as usual, users will be able to send these follow-up texts to contacts. Note that follow-up texts can currently only be sent after calls marked with the call outcome = Completed (though this feature will likely evolve to offer additional options in the near future).
Upon completing a call and marking it as Completed, the user will see a screen that asks "Send text to [contact first name]?"; they can elect to send a text, or skip a text if it's not necessary. If they elect to send a text, they will be navigated to the inbox (the same inbox in the volunteer interface that is used for peer-to-peer and broadcast texting), where they can view the response script options and send a message. They can also edit the report (with tags and custom fields determined in Step 3: Data of the phone bank's settings), if needed after continuing the conversation.
